New Beginning #92

It’s been a long 6 months since my last entry here. 6 months ago I was so happy that I was finally seeing the fruit of my musical labor. It had been years since I did anything creative and out of all the new beginnings my music career has had this one was looking good. After a very encouraging first release of Sing To The Lord all heck broke loose (and a little HELL as well).

The church had it’s lease yanked out from under us by our very uncaring Reformed Church landlords. We had to move – not just to a new meeting space, but an entirely new community. This has demanded a lot of time and brain power – basically we are back in “church plant” mode. There have been a few bouts of family drama – which always sucks the creativity right out of a person. I’ve returned to working a day job to make ends meet since the church cannot support me. Losing the church building also meant having to dismantle my studio, which meant the worship EP – which was on track for a before-the-end-of-the-year release, was stalled indefinitely.

I am now happy to report that through the graciousness of my family, the living room was converted into a studio, and for the last 3 weeks or so I have been getting a few things done musically. My aim is to have a new song release in January 2015 and to complete the worship EP by February or March.

Please keep me, the music, the church, the family in prayer – in fact, move these to the top of your prayer list please! I sure do need it!
