How to Help the Ministry

I so appreciate the many comments, likes and views wherever my music is posted! I’m led to believe that it’s not because you are impressed with me, but that your heart was touched by the musical message. I’m a pastor and gone are the days of my youth where I wanted to be a rock star. I do what I do that I may minister to people and my heart is to see as many people reached as possible. The good news is that the day of big record labels and publishing companies seems to be ending, it’s amazing how the world can be reached from one’s laptop. The not so good news is that so many people today are aspiring or established artists, so many in Christiandom are billed as music ministries. And everyone is reaching out to the world from their own laptops!

I love how the bible gives a description of what a successful minister of music – or even a Christian artist looks like – David got his first gig because it was said that he was “skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the Lord is with him” (1st Samuel 16:14-18). When time allows perhaps I’ll expand on this in a blog post, but to the point, in our world today endeavoring to fit this description doesn’t seem to be enough. Sure a great song and great presentation is important. Of course it’s mission critical that the Lord be with you (“Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it” Psalm 127:1). But I’m finding today – especially in the digital realm that there are SO MANY SONGS out there and so much chatter and clutter that it is difficult to get a song heard.

I’m also noticing that there are so many social media sites, blogs and websites out there, but many are like walled gardens. There is a way however that people are getting past those walls and rising to the forefront of all the chatter. They are successfully getting their songs (or products, or services even) before the people that will be blessed by them. That’s where you come in.

Again, I am thankful for all the comments, likes and views, but would you consider going a step or two further? Just a little effort on your part will help my music to reach more people. Below are a few ways you can help.
